Lest you think all I do is buy fabric and give it away... I want you to see that I've been sewing too. : ) I've been adding more modern crosses to my design wall. They're all hanging out getting to know each other. With only two colors, I'm trying to decide if the red and aqua should alternate. Maybe a more random mix would look better. What do you think?
This design is from the book, Modern Log Cabin Quilting by Susan Beal. It is such a great pattern. I can't wait to make another one!! This version on flickr is really beautiful and so is this one. Mine started with a bundle of Sugar and Spice by the Quilted Fish, which happens to come with some great stripes. Striped binding anyone? Oh yeah! About fifteen more blocks to go...

I think it looks fine the way it is:) Get those blocks done girl;)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love any red-blue combo!!
ReplyDeleteEsther.
Those fabrics look familiar :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous. Can't go past this colour combination.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I definitely want this book too.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt- I love turq and red together! Striped binding too!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! And it looks fabulous the way it is in its randomness! Get cracking on those blocks!!
ReplyDeleteI love the offset grid. I don't even notice the regularity of the alternation. The things that really pop are the near solid reds - the big white polka dots and red floral prints. I would be most careful with the placement of those blocks.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very pleasing aqua and red :D I love this color combo.
ReplyDeleteI need to make this cross quilt and I love your fabric choices Adrienne!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, the fabrics and colours are simply stunning <3
ReplyDeleteI like it the way you have it. I think I might be able to tell better, though if you had a picture of the colors alternating. Nice work.
