This is a simple project that you can make in an afternoon. Since I was making a gift, I opened my bin of special fabric. It's like when you set the table with your good china for dinner guests. This piece is from Ruby Star Shining by Melody Miller and it was calling out to me. I like that it has the look of patchwork even though I didn't piece it.
When I cut out the exterior pieces for the cover, I made sure to leave room for a full phone. The idea of a giant rotary telephone on an iPad cover amuses me.
I used this tutorial by Amber of One Shabby Chick. I think I'll make a couple more covers for the kids. Maybe with their initials appliqued on the front.
