Today we are celebrating the newest pattern from my friend, AnneMarie of Gen X Quilters. This 10-page pattern includes full color photographs, four patchwork style blocks, two napkin sizes, fabric requirements, helpful tips and complete assembly instructions to make patchwork napkins that are FUN-ctional. Giveaway at the end of this post!
These patchwork napkins are completely reversible with no exposed seams. The self binding technique makes for a very polished edge on each napkin.
There are four block designs to choose from and I picked the log cabin for my napkin. I used some fresh, springy Lottie Da scraps. The tiny butterfly was just begging to be fussy cut for the center. The background is a grey Sweetwater print. Doesn't it make those bright pastels sing?
For the backing and binding, I chose a candy green colored solid. I really like the way it framed the whole thing. It's like a little mini quilt for each place setting.
Don't forget Mom! Mother's Day is Sunday, May 11. These napkins are a snap to sew up. The Patchwork Napkins Pattern is ON SALE all this week for the hop - just $7 here.

ReplyDeleteI have never purchased paper napkins. Can't do it. Having said that we are not a napkin family, not really. We have them out for more formal dinners that's about all. I have numerous sets that have been gifted to us. One set ,too small, I made. And I have always meant to make some new larger ones. This may be the impetuous
ReplyDeletewe use paper napkins but I have been meaning to make some cloth napkins when I find a nice pattern... and I think I have found it ! These are bright and colorful without being fussy. I am interested to learn the self binding technique as well.

In my house we use paper towels as napkins. On a special occasion, I will break out the plain white cloth napkins that were a wedding gift. These would be much more fun to set the table with and make great gifts also. Thank you for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteCloth napkins I made using the rolled hem on a serger. Just on piece of fabric so not as pretty as yours.
ReplyDeleteMine are paper, but patchwork is looking good now! Thanks for the chance to win! ksmith8@emich.edu
ReplyDeleteMy napkins are paper. Now that I have seen these super cute designs, I am thinking it is time to change back to cloth. Wouldn't one of these napkins look wonderful covering a bread basket at the table?

ReplyDeleteWe use paper napkins. I have been wanting to make some fun patchwork ones and finally have the inspiration! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity... We have just made the switch to cloth napkins, but right now we are each using a small kitchen towel! This pattern would sure be a timely prize for me!!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I use paper napkins at home. Whenever we get takeout, and they give us extra napkins (almost always), we keep them in a little box next to the table and use them when necessary.
