It's Not You, It's Me

Dear Putty Essex,

We need to talk.  This isn't working for me anymore.  You are a beautiful fabric.  We have made some good memories and I have really loved our time together.  It's time for me to move on now.  It's not you, it's me.  Maybe we can still be friends?

Undoing and redoing my bento blocks and changing out the Essex putty for white.  A tedious process to be sure!  I figured if I was going to spend all that time making a quilt, it should be something that felt right... to me.  This feels much better.  ; )

ps, I will be hosting a giveaway on Talk About Fabric tomorrow.  Don't miss it!  : )

  2. I love the change! The white makes the blocks look dazzling and the extra contrast really makes the patterns pop. A great decision and definitely worth the extra work.

  4. Oh, sure, leave about the part where your dear husband said that the Essex putty on purplish fabrics made it looked like a mourning quilt. Now it's bright and cheerful... from sad to glad!
