A Garbage Bowl For Quilters

Supernova Quilt Along

Cooks use them why not quilters? What's that you ask? A garbage bowl of course!  : ) I picked up this cute little bowl and it's perfect for holding all my trimmy, fluffy, thready mess as I work. Even fabric garbage is pretty isn't it?

  6. The bowl is pretty, but that's not garbage! That's a string quilt waiting to happen! (I have a thing for saving scraps. Admitting I have a problem is the first step, right?)

  7. I do the same thing, but I use a large and awkward vase (seriously, it's the size of an umbrella stand!) with clear sides. I thought it looked kind of nice with all the little fabric scraps inside until my sister came over, saw it on the table, and asked in a strangled voice "what is... That?" Oh well, it is still highly functional.

  8. My kinda lady - a Rachel Ray fan AND a quilter. Never thought to use the term in my sewing room!

  9. It sure is! I've got a frosted blue plastic cup thing that hangs on the side of my cutting table for scraps, and it certainly helps keep the area cleaner. Actually, I have three of the cups, one holds my scissors and rotary cutters and the third has small scissors, seam rippers, and marking tools.

  10. Cute bowl. I love those little scrappy pieces, and hate to see the trash get emptied.

  11. I've been using one of my pyrex bowls for little scraps. I also use the floor.
