Sunday Stash 17: Cincinnati Adventures

I haven't done a Sunday Stash in a long time and I thought it would be fun to share what the DH brought home from Cincinnati.  He's a good storyteller don't you think?  He assures me it did really happen just-like-that.  Unbelievable!

To know him is to love him.  Tom loves surprises, he loves a squeegee hunt and he loves over the top.  One time, about 8 years ago, he ripped a page out of the phone book to find an obscure album for a gift.  Together we hit every single music store, new and used, within a 50 mile radius.  I'm talking Rasputin's, Amoeba, Streelight Records, The Warehouse, Sam Goody, etc...  I looked at the long list of stores and I asked him why don't we call and find out who has it. With a twinkle in his eye he replied, "that's no fun."

So, let the fun begin!

We both love Sherbet Pips.  He doesn't know it yet, but I bought yardage of the gray puppies for lounge pants for him.  I think it just moved to the top of the sewing list.  ; )

  2. What a thoughtful hubby- he's a keeper! Love his choice of fabrics and the shop. I live in a northern suburb of Cincinnati and Sewn is a great addition to our fair city. Tell your hubby he isn't the only Asian in the city. My husband is orginally from China - he came here in his teens. There is a Pan-Asian professional group that he's very active in. I will say that Asians are certainly a minority in this part of the country. When we lived in California, he was much less of a anomaly. What's really crazy is our sons use their father's last name (very Chinese) but they don't look Asian at all. Seems like my Italian genes dominated - who knew!

  10. I don't suppose your hubby would be willing to give classes to the husbands of others would he? He could do it on line. My DH is good and at times sill help me pick fabrics but to go to a store out of town on his own is something I don't see happening. Lucky girl.

  18. So,your husbands story was hilarious. I want to read it to my husband, but I think it would be too 'hint-hinty'. I did manage to drag my husband to Sewn earlier this month. We were in Cincy for an anniversary get-a-way. Great store. Brought home some Fifi & Fido. Love it.
